Borrow bikes, tools and accessories
We understand that the cost of owning, renting or maintaining a bicycle can be a significant barrier faced when it comes to cycling. Through funding from Energy Savings Trust, Climate Challenge Fund and Cycling Scotland we are delighted to offer a wide range of items in our Lending Library. With these items, we want to support you incorporating cycling into your life and allow you to swap cars for handlebars.
Our Lending Library Includes:
- 5 e-bikes
- Kids trailers
- Cargo trailers
- Kids seats
- Tag alongs
- An e-cargo bike
- A massive array of tools for bicycle maintenance
In Our Accessible Fleet We have:
- 2 electric trikes
- A recumbent bicycle
- 2 tandem bicycles
2030 Vision For Active Travel
The Transport Scotland Active Travel Framework outlines a vision for journeys in Scotland. It tells us that by 2030, it sees Scotland’s communities being shaped around people and place, enabling walking and cycling to be the most popular mode of travel for short, everyday journeys.
We believe that our lending library can assist in facilitating this change. This is because electric bikes provide a viable alternative to cars for daily commuting and short trips around town. Borrowing one of our e-bikes can allow this vision to become a reality for you – perhaps one that you never thought possible.
Borrow an Item
It is free to create an account for the library and we do not specifically charge to borrow an item. Instead, we operate on a ‘donate if you can’ basis
Through being a member of our library you can also book and use our ‘Fix Your Own Bike’ service
Please note that pick up and drop of times for the library items are between 09:30-16:30 Monday-Thursday.
